BERKELEY — One person was killed in a shooting Friday afternoon in South Berkeley, police said.
Officers were called around 12:45 p.m. to the 3200 block of Adeline Street for a report of shots fired, according to the Berkeley Police Department. When they arrived, they found one person suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The victim received life-saving treatment but died of his injuries at the scene, police said.
The death marks Berkeley’s third homicide of the year.
Police did not announce any arrests or release a description of the suspect on Friday.
Following the shooting, roads were closed at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Woolsey Street as well as Adeline Street and Harmon Street.
