“At this point, we’re still in the very early stages of the investigation,” Boston Police Department Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said.
Two people were shot, one fatally, in Dorchester on Monday night, police said.
The incident happened at 5 Trent Street around 6:36 p.m., Boston Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said.
When police arrived at the scene, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
McLaughlin confirmed that both victims were taken to the hospital. One victim was pronounced dead; his identity has not been released. The other victim had what McLaughlin called “non-fatal gunshot wounds.”
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, McLaughlin said.
“At this point, we’re still in the very early stages of the investigation,” McLaughlin said. He said the BPD is canvassing the area for video footage of the incident or witnesses. “We’re looking for help from anyone in the neighborhood who may have come out and seen something,” he said.
There are no suspects or arrests at this time.
