Patriots wide receiver JaQuae Jackson left Thursday’s preseason game against the Eagles with a leg injury suffered in the fourth quarter.

Jackson left the field in a cart. Patriots defender Deatrich Wise Jr. threw a towel in his face.

The Patriots quickly announced that Jackson would be out for the remainder of the game with a leg injury.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound rookie receiver has only one reception this preseason, but it was a memorable one. He scored on Joe Milton’s 38-yard touchdown pass in the season opener against the Panthers.

The injury came on an incomplete pass from Joe Milton III that was nearly intercepted. It was Jackson’s only target of the game.

The Patriots signed Jackson as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers this offseason. He was originally signed by the Falcons, but Atlanta cut him in June.

Jackson spent his senior season at Rutgers after playing three seasons at Division II California University of Pennsylvania. He caught 22 passes for 361 yards in 2023.
