BERKELEY — A person was shot and injured Thursday in downtown Berkeley, police said.
Officers were dispatched to Henry Street and Berkeley Way around 2:30 p.m. for reports of several shots fired and a person with a gun, according to Berkeley Police Officer Byron White. They arrived and found bullet casings but no victims or suspects.
Moments later, a person arrived at Highland Hospital in Oakland with a gunshot wound, White said. The injury was not life-threatening.
“BPD officers have contacted this individual,” White said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
“Further updates will be provided as they become available,” he said.
White said there appeared to be no immediate threat to community members in the area.
