The retailer has taken an additional 25,000 sq ft at the shopping complex and will shut down its 21,000 sq ft home store, located within the neighboring Trafford Palazzo.

Next has signed a new 10-year lease on its existing 40,000 sq ft store on Regent Crescent. In addition, the company has increased its footprint up to 65,000 sq ft by expanding into vacant space within adjoining units.

This will allow the retailer to bring its clothing, beauty, and home ranges under one roof at the Trafford Center, which is owned by CPP Investment Board.

As a result, the Next Home store within Peel L & P’s Trafford Palazzo complex will close.

Overall, Next’s strategy results in a 4,000 sq ft net increase of its Trafford Center footprint.

“This is a significant signing for us and an exciting step for everyone involved,” said Rhys Evans, director at Pradera Lateral, the Trafford Center’s asset manager.

“The deal represents a true partnership between Trafford Center and Next, whereby both parties will be working together to create an exceptional shopping environment. The new store will dramatically increase Next’s presence and impact on the mall and provide a seamless customer experience. ”

Mike Barrow, area manager at Next, added: “We are excited to be able to bring all of our products together in one destination within the Trafford Center.

“This is a really exciting opportunity for Next and will ensure we are able to provide a better product offering and, more importantly, the best customer service within Trafford Center.”
