COMMUNITIES are gathered across Dorset for another day of street parties to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum anniversary.
The streets across the city district were decorated in red, white and blue as neighbors partyed to mark 70 years of the Queen’s reign.
The spirits were high as people came to sing, dance, play games and eat an impressive amount of cake.
In Kinson, Green Lane residents had lined the streets with bundling, union jacks and anniversary-themed props at a party hosted by neighbors Michaela, Sue and Paulina.
Michaela said: “I’m a queen lover, I love the royal family and I just think it’s great for the community.”

The party was also very dog friendly, with many dogs basking in the sunshine while people got the most out of the festive weekend.
The spirit of society could also be felt in Southbourne. Wick Green became home to a busy anniversary theme party hosted by locals Marietta and Brenda.
Marietta said: “I have lived here for 21 years. Brenda has lived here longer.
Hanalei, Blake and Cleo enjoy the street party at Wick Green.
“We just love the queen and everything about this. It’s about community spirit and bringing everyone together.
Brenda added: “We are a wonderful community and we all know each other. It’s a great support network, so it’s great to be together.”
The festivities began early on Burtley Road. A resident, Chris Griffith, who could be seen rocking with a dazzling union jack hat, told the Daily Echo how the party had helped her meet new people. She said: “I have lived here for 20 years and we have already seen people here we have not met before.”
Elsewhere, Lulworth Crescent came together to party on the street, which had been closed to the public. A game of giant Jenga was well underway while a large selection of cakes and beverages were available to residents.
Both children and parents got some very royal face paint as families got the most out of the sun to enjoy the historic event.
Finally, the residents of Gorleston Road filled two large tables to mark the anniversary and enjoyed the plentiful selection of cakes and booze.
