A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson at a flat in Radcliffe.
Emergency services, including the fire service and police, were called to reports of a fire at an address in Five Quarters shortly after 9pm on Friday (July 19). An image shared on social media shows flames shooting out of a ground floor flat on the residential street.
Firefighters spent nearly three hours battling the blaze. No one was injured, police confirmed.

A man in his twenties was arrested on suspicion of arson and assaulting a police officer. An apartment on the street was still under judicial supervision on Saturday afternoon.
Forensic officers were seen working inside the address. Footage from the scene showed charred bricks above the front door and ground floor window.
Several pieces of furniture, which appeared to have been damaged by the fire, were scattered on the sidewalk outside.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 9.15pm last night (Friday 29 July 2024) we were called to reports of a house fire on Five Quarters in Radcliffe, Bury.
“A man in his twenties has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger police life and assault against police. An investigation is ongoing.”
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly after 9pm last night, three fire engines from Bury Central, Whitefield and Farnworth fire stations were called to reports of a building fire involving a property in Five Quarters, Radcliffe.
“Crews arrived quickly on scene. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used three jets of water to extinguish the fire. They also used a gas detector and a thermal imaging camera to ensure the property and neighbouring properties were safe.
“Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours last night and returned to the scene this morning. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.”
