If you’ve been waiting for the new Google Pixel Watch 3, there’s good news: you can pre-order it now and even save big in the process.
According to our technology expertsThis model offers some seriously impressive improvements, starting with AI-powered features that make it easier to communicate, text, stay healthy, get help in emergencies, and more. You can even save time on everyday tasks, from planning to navigation.
Is the Google Pixel Watch 3 worth it?
The Google Pixel Watch 3 now comes in two sizes (41 and 45 millimeters) and four color combinations. The smaller version offers 10 percent more screen real estate than the Pixel Watch 2, while the larger version offers 40 percent more screen real estate to display custom watch faces and personalized information.
And like previous Pixel smartwatches, this one offers all the features of a Fitbit health and fitness tracker seamlessly integrated into the watch. That includes over 40 activity and workout modes. You also get an always-on Actua AMOLED display that’s brighter than ever (up to 2,000 nits), but can easily be dimmed to just 1 nit when you’re in a movie theater or trying to sleep.
The battery life is now up to 24 hours. Thanks to AI, the watch can better manage incoming calls and detect spam more effectively. You can also use the watch’s Recorder app to record your thoughts, meetings, classes or conversations, and then get a transcript and summary directly on your smartphone. Plus, if you have a smart TV that works with the app Google TVOSyou can use the Pixel Watch 3 as a TV remote.
One of the features we like the most is that if you have a Nest Cam or Nest Video Doorbell, you can view its live video feed right on your watch and communicate with anyone at your door. A new Safety Check feature shares your location with pre-selected people at a set time when you’re outside alone. Fall detection, SOS emergency sharing, and the ability for the watch to share your medical information in an emergency are also built into the watch.
The Pixel Watch 3 comes with just one band, but there are dozens of others available, allowing you to customize the watch to suit your outfit, mood, or activity. Both watch sizes are available with either simple Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity (which means it relies heavily on your smartphone being nearby) or 4G LTE + Bluetooth/Wi-Fi.
We highly recommend the 4G LTE + Bluetooth/Wi-Fi version of the Pixel Watch 3. This way, you can communicate and work autonomously from your smartphone: manage calls and text messages, ask Gemini Assistant to retrieve information from the Internet, stream music or videos, and much more. You can use the watch anywhere, even if you leave your phone behind.
Sensors built into the Pixel Watch 3 include a compass, altimeter, SpO2 monitor, multi-path optical heart rate sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, skin temperature sensor, barometer, and more.
