Prince William apparently gave his brother Prince Harry “the opposite of an acknowledgment” when the couple ignored each other at an anniversary event, an expert claims.
The once close brothers were both seen attending a Thanksgiving service for the Queen in St. Paul’s Cathedral, which was Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s first public appearance at a royal event since retiring as senior royals in 2020.
But despite the fact that both siblings were at the same event, the two sat far apart and were not seen interacting or even standing next to each other during the service.
Body language expert Judi James told the Mirror that the Duke of Cambridge adopted a “barrier gesture” as he and his wife Kate walked past the church chair where his brother was sitting without recognition.

Judi explained: “So far there have been no ‘moments’ between the brothers to signal recognition or a hint of restoration of their bond of friendship.
“Harry certainly looked resigned in the back row here and did not sit behind his brother as he was at the last memorial service.
Harry’s expression hinted at some relief as he joked with Zara as he searched for his car on the way out and he threw a wide, open-mouthed grin in her direction from the chairs but otherwise he fell into a haunted eye expression with some flashing fast to suggest inner anxiety, leaned in and down to Meghan as she spoke, as if eager to get some support.
“There was the opposite of an acknowledgment from William as he walked past Harry’s row during the parade out of the service.

“As he sucked his lips in and with his chin pulled up in a determined gesture, he seemed to turn his head in the other direction for a moment and raise his order of service high in a barrier motion.”
Meanwhile, Judi noted that Meghan’s appearance was “as perfect as it could have been under difficult circumstances”.
She said: “Her attitude was upright and her smile was designed for a calm but subdued look.
“While Harry’s emotions and behavior seemed to fluctuate between subdued and anxious and strange moments with funny outbursts that looked like another symptom of inner anxiety or tension, Meghan used a little pressure on her back like what looked like the only other PDA than their signature handcuffs. “
Much has been made of the rift between William and Harry with their frosty relationship, allegedly triggered by Williams’ concerns over Harry’s rapidly evolving relationship with Meghan ahead of their royal wedding in 2018.
The tense quarrel quickly boiled over – Harry claimed his brother was “trapped” in the royal system during a bomb interview with Oprah Winfrey after retiring as senior royal.
Since leaving the UK in early 2020, Harry has only seen his brother twice before the anniversary celebrations – at Prince Philips’ funeral and at the unveiling of a statue of their late mother Princess Diana.
