The British royal family is officially growing as Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are expecting their second child.
Buckingham Palace announced Tuesday that the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, is pregnant and due in early spring.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a brother to Wolfie and Sienna,” the palace shared on its official social media channels.
Authorities added that Beatrice’s uncle, King Charles III, had “been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
Mozzi, a real estate mogul, and Beatrice married in an intimate ceremony in Windsor in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Beatrice’s close family, including Prince Andrew and grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, were all in attendance.
The couple welcomed their first child together, Sienna Elizabeth, on September 18, 2021.
Mozzi also has a son Wolfie, from his previous relationship with American architect and designer Dara Huang.
Beatrice and her husband reportedly split their time between London and New York, where she works as vice president of partnerships and strategy for software company Tandiiti. She is ninth in the British line of succession to the royal throne – one position behind Prince Andrew.
