UPDATE: Amazon is expected to release new stock of the PS5 this week with bundles from Currys available at select stores. Read on for more information.
The long bank holiday is now over and with that people are still finding it immensely difficult to buy a PS5. It has been well over a year since its launch, yet we’m all still struggling to find a console thanks to the ongoing global semiconductor shortage sparked by the coronavirus pandemic.
Things started to look up in March, after a dire start to 2022 with the worst two months for drops on record in January and February. April has seen better fortune with large drops from some of the biggest retailers in the UK. We’re now over halfway through the month, but already there have been PS5 consoles available at PlayStation Direct and ShopTo, plus more restocks at Currys, Argos, AO, Game and Smyths Toys so far last week alone. Let’s hope that these drops continue throughout the month.
Our liveblog is here to get you one of Sony’s elusive next-gen consoles, as well as provide you with the details on the best games and accessories to grab alongside your new machine, plus the latest game reviews. If you want to find out which online retailers will be the first to restock, then keep scrolling to receive updates as they happen.

When will ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ be released on the PS5?
Hogwarts Legacy is an open world Harry Potter tie-in developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive which will take students into the ever-changing halls of Hogwarts as we have not seen them before.
Set before the events of Fantastic Beastsplayers will attend Hogwarts in the 19th century as a customizable student in one of the four main houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.
During Playstation’s live stream or Hogwarts Legacy gameplay, a release window of “holidays 2022” was given, meaning that we can expect to see the new game released sometime before Christmas.

PS5 bundles still available at Currys
There are still a few bundles left over at Currys from last week if you did not manage to pick one of those up.
The Horizon Forbidden West bundle (£ 749.99, Currys.co.uk) includes a copy of the game, an extra dualsense controller, a headset and an internal SSD for expandable storage.
As you would expect, the standalone PS5 deals tend to be the first to go as the console by itself retails at £ 449. This bundle is substantially more than that with the extra accessories and game included but if you were intending to pick up a few extras then this might be the best way to get your hands on the elusive console.

Will Amazon stock the PS5 this week?
We’re now over halfway through April and after a long weekend, we can take the time to find out where we are likely to see the PS5 appear next.
It’s worth looking at another large retailer that we’re expecting to drop new PS5’s this week. Amazon is expected to release more consoles on Wednesday 20 April in the early hours, between 8am and 9:30 am to be exact.
The last restock we saw from them took place on March 23 around 8:30 am so we can expect to see more Sony consoles around that time.

What time will Very stock this morning?
Very is a predictable retailer when it comes to new stock of the PS5. Almost like clockwork, consoles tend to be released on a Tuesday between 9am and 10:30 am BST at least once a month since Sony’s console first released in November 2020.
It’s now been six weeks since we last saw a stock drop from Very, so we are fairly certain that we could be seeing more Playstation 5’s out in the wild this morning.
To help make it through checkout. Make sure you are logged into the website before the drop goes live and avoid refreshing the page once you are in the queue. We’ll let you know as soon as we see the restock happen.
