Wake County, NC – Residents of a key North Carolina district revealed what they’re hearing on the ground in this battleground state, from both the Republican and Democratic parties, just weeks before the 2024 presidential election.
Fox News Digital spoke with residents of Wake County, North Carolina, a highly populated district that could decide how the state votes in the presidential election. The district voted for the Democratic candidate in the last four presidential elections, but voted Republican in 2004 and 2000.
In speaking with voters, it emerged that they were approached through phone calls and text messages regardless of which party they were registered with, but overall every resident recalled receiving a form of advocacy during a political campaign during this cycle.
Cameron Wilson, a professor at North Carolina State University, said he thought the Harris campaign had a stronger presence in Raleigh, North Carolina, but added that “among students, Trump definitely gives it a kick.”

When asked how they thought their district would vote in November, residents were torn, but most said they expected their district to vote for the Democratic candidate.
“I’m going to go blue, but certainly not by the same margin as the last election,” Wilson said of the district’s vote.
“I think here with Chapel Hill and Duke and NC State, it’s not as liberal. But I would say it probably leans more one way than the other,” Zack Karagias told Fox News Digital . “I think Kamala is going to test us. I think Trump is going to try to help us.”

Another person, Julia, said that “according to all my friends and peers, it’s definitely Democratic, but it’s hard.”
Republicans and Democrats waged an intense get-out-the-vote campaign in North Carolina, a historic battleground state. Fox News Digital interviewed the North Carolina Republican and Democratic parties, both saying they hoped to reach more than a million voters through mobilization efforts such as canvassing, phone calls and mailing SMS.
“I get a ton of texts every day, automated messages to vote for Trump,” said resident Evan Davis. “It’s non-stop.”
“I signed up to receive emails for Trump, but that’s it,” Karagias said.
“I saw a bunch of Mark Robinson signs all over here the other day, but then I saw a few Kamala signs.” Wilson added. He said most of the messages came from the Trump campaign, but he still received “some left-wing stuff.”
“I’ve received text messages from Kamala Harris herself. And I haven’t received any phone calls yet,” Julia Smith told Fox.
“It’s hard to say,” she said when asked which campaign seemed to have the strongest presence in the district. “What I consume is more democratic.”
