Santa Monica College campuses closed after employee shot

Police are investigating a shooting at a Santa Monica College facility that left an employee injured Monday evening. All Santa Monica College campuses will be closed Tuesday.

“Law enforcement is actively searching for a suspect,” according to a notice posted on the school’s website.

The employee was shot around 9:50 p.m. at the university’s Center for Media & Design, north of the main campus, the school said.

No further information was immediately available.
