Omari Cassell, 18, of Newton, turned himself in to Watertown police Friday.

A second person has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Watertown last month that investigators say involved three masked suspects.

Omari Cassell, 18, of Newton, turned himself in to the Watertown Police Department on Friday, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office.

He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Waltham District Court on charges of battery, battery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy.

On October 22, around 5:15 p.m., police responded to several 911 calls regarding a disturbance at a bus stop near Mt. Auburn and Boylston streets. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a man who had suffered injuries to his face and head as well as two lacerations to his back that appeared to be stab wounds.

The victim told police he was waiting for the bus when he noticed a vehicle driving by several times before stopping around the corner. Authorities say three men wearing masks got out of the vehicle, asked the man where he was from, and then began punching and kicking him.

One of the masked attackers allegedly stabbed the victim twice in the back with a knife during the attack, according to Ryan’s office. Two minutes later, officials said the three masked men fled to their car and drove away.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

Michael McGhee, 19, of Boston, was the first person to be charged in the alleged stabbing. McGhee was arraigned on October 25 and was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for November 6.

Investigators asked anyone with information about the case to contact Watertown police at 617-972-6500.
