Donald Trump’s campaign said in a statement that he was “doing well” after being evacuated from the scene at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, following a shooting that a local prosecutor said left the suspected gunman and at least one attendee dead.
The former president and presumptive Republican nominee was holding up a chart of border crossing numbers at his final rally before the Republican National Convention opened Monday when gunfire began ringing out in the crowd. Trump could be seen reaching toward his face with his right hand. Footage showed blood on his face as he was rushed off stage by Secret Service agents.
