There’s fan interference, and then there’s what happened Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.
Cheeky Yankees fans sitting along the right-field foul line teamed up to open Mookie Betts’ glove and remove a ball the Dodgers star had just caught against the wall in Game 4 of the World Series.
The shocking incident occurred in the bottom of the first inning, when Yankees leadoff hitter Gleyber Torres clipped Ben Casparius’ 1-0 fastball at the foul line.
Betts jumped to catch, and a fan grabbed the right fielder’s glove while it was still on his left hand. Another fan then grabbed Betts’ right hand as the original fan removed the ball from Betts’ glove.
"Well, A for effort."

The referees quickly ruled it fan interference and Torres was called.
Both fans were kicked out of the game, an NYPD officer involved in their expulsion told the Daily News.
This was the second case of fan interference involving Torres during the 2024 World Series.
In the ninth inning of Game 1, a fan broke through the left field wall at Dodger Stadium and caught a long drive off Torres’ bat. It was a double and the score remained 2-2. The Dodgers won this game 6-3 in 10 innings.
