Why become a Costco member?

I like Costco — I have been a member for over 24 years. I do most of my grocery shopping there. It is my go-to store for paper towels, trash bags, and laundry detergent. It is also where I stock up on groceries like milk, coffee, and eggs (they are much cheaper at Costco than at my local supermarket). Costco is also a great place to stock up on wine. I recommend Kirkland Signature™ boxed wines, which offer a solid combination of high quality and low prices.

I also make sure to buy a rotisserie chicken when I go to Costco. It’s a great main course for dinner, with enough leftovers to make sandwiches or chicken salad the next day. And the price is unbeatable: you could end up paying a lot more by buying a whole chicken to roast at home.

Costco is a great place to find household items: furniture, small appliances, bedding, and more. Plus, Costco extends the warranty on select electronics to two years at no extra cost.

When I need gas, I stop at the gas station next to my local warehouse. The price is usually cheaper there than at nearby stations. Don’t let the long lines put you off: most Costco gas stations have more pumps than average. The lines move quickly.

And of course, every time I go to Costco, I stop at the food court. It’s hard to go wrong with the $1.50 hot dog and soda combo. Try it next time you’re there. Or grab a $10 fresh-baked pizza for the whole family.

Costco’s Executive Program membership costs $130 per year. The maximum annual reward is $1,250.

Your reward is distributed each year after your February billing statement closes. Your reward is distributed in the form of a credit card reward certificate. An alternate form of redemption other than at the warehouse may be provided at the discretion of Citi and/or Costco.
