Six dead as gunmen open fire in Tel Aviv

At least six people were killed and nine injured in a mass shooting at a Tel Aviv train station, Israeli police said.

Police previously said four people were killed and seven injured in a suspected terrorist attack in Tel Aviv, central Israel, adding that two attackers were “neutralized.”

“Four civilians were killed by gunfire from two terrorists. In addition, according to medical sources, seven people were injured, to varying degrees of seriousness. The two terrorists were neutralized on the spot,” police said in a statement.

Police said the gunmen opened fire in Tel Aviv, Israel’s commercial capital, on the border with Jaffa, and there were a number of casualties.

Television footage showed gunmen getting off a tram station and opening fire. Israeli media reported that at least four people were seriously injured.

Videos posted on social media show several bodies on the ground. Video shows police surrounding what appears to be the body of an armed man.

Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service said it received a report at 7:01 p.m. local time of people with gunshot wounds.
