The family of three women killed in a crossbow attack in Bushey, Hertfordshire, this week have said they are “devastated”.

The victims are Carol Hunt, 61, the wife of Sky Sports and BBC racing commentator John Hunt, and two of their daughters, Louise, 25, and Hannah, 28.

In a statement, husband and father John and daughter and sister Amy said: “The devastation we are experiencing cannot be described in words.

“We would like to thank people for their kind messages and for the support we have received over the past few days. They have brought us great comfort for which we are very grateful.

“As you can imagine, this is an extremely difficult time for us, and we need time and space to come to terms with what has happened and begin the grieving process.

“While all of this is happening, we ask that you respect our privacy and that of our family and relationships. Thank you.”
