SWAT team responds to Roseland shooting early Sunday, arrests suspect

Chicago police deployed a SWAT team in response to shots fired early Sunday morning in Roseland. One suspect was taken into custody and two people are hospitalized.

A 29-year-old man who transported himself from the crime scene in the 10500 block of South Cottage Grove to the University of Chicago Hospital is reported to be in critical condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

A second unidentified victim was transported to Roseland Community Hospital with a graze wound to his left forearm. His condition is reportedly fair.

After barricading themselves at the scene following the 2:13 a.m. shooting, a suspect was eventually arrested without incident.

Zone 2 detectives are still investigating.
