Teenage girls victims of three separate shootings in the South and Southwest

A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Saturday night while walking on the sidewalk in North Lawndale with a 22-year-old man and a 33-year-old man when shots were fired, according to Chicago police.

The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday in the 3600 block of West Douglas Boulevard.

The teenager was shot in the groin and the 22-year-old was shot in the left leg. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital by police in fair condition. The 33-year-old was shot in the chest and taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No one is in custody and Zone 4 detectives are investigating.

Then, in the early morning hours, police say a 16-year-old boy was shot dead while walking on train tracks in the Clearing neighborhood.

According to Chicago police, he only heard the gunshots and felt pain; he did not see the shooter. The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 6300 block of South Knox.

The victim, a teenage girl, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his right leg. Police said he was in good health.

No one is in custody and Area 1 detectives are investigating the shooting.

Just over two hours later, a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man drove themselves to Holy Cross Hospital after an unknown man in a silver SUV fired shots at them as they drove through Gage Park, police said.

The teenager, whose left wrist was grazed by a bullet, is in good health. The victim, aged 20, was hit by a bullet in the back, which left him in critical condition.

No one is in custody, Zone 1 detectives are also investigating the shooting.
