Teresa Giudice supports her husband.
The ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star defended Luis Ruelas during Sunday’s Season 14 reunion after he drew backlash for wishing he ‘suffered'[ing]” about Margaret Joseph’s son.
When the cast first saw the clip at this weekend’s screening – filmed in separate rooms due to the “divisive state of the show” – Josephs said she was “horrified” by the comment.
“I had to make the sign of the cross,” the 57-year-old said. “It’s disgusting.”
After Dolores Catania said Ruelas, 49, would “get punished” for saying that, Giudice responded: “I don’t care.
“Listen, my kids suffered!” said the Bravolebrity, who shares Gia, 23, Gabriella, 19, Milania, 18, and Audriana, 14, with ex-husband Joe Giudice. “My stepson suffered. My girls suffered.”
She told Catania, 53, not to “defend” Josephs when the “Traitors” star reiterated his claim that Ruelas’ remark was “wrong.”
Teresa, 52, told her co-stars to “let it go”.
She added: “He was upset. People make mistakes. I know he didn’t mean it. I’m going to make sure he apologizes.”
Notably, Ruelas posted an apology on Instagram Story two days after the finale aired on August 4.
Can’t get enough of “Real Housewives”?
“The finale was very difficult for me to watch,” he wrote. “I was disappointed in my actions in bringing up Margaret Josephs [sic] son.
“I know that you shouldn’t raise someone’s child and it’s something I deeply regret,” the businessman continued. “I want to apologize and acknowledge that I was wrong.”
Josephs remained silent about his apology.
As for Teresa’s sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, she called the dig at Ruelas “one of the lowest moments” she’s witnessed in the Bravo show’s 14 seasons.
The show’s unconventional reunion comes just after Andy Cohen publicly discussed revamping the cast with “new faces” — though he clarified last month that nothing was “definitive” yet.
“I was just improvising,” Radio Andy host said. “We’re going to reimagine the show in some ways.”
Cohen also spoke about Ruelas on Tuesday’s episode of the “Garbage World” podcast, calling the whole situation “dark.”
He has yet to respond to Ruelas’ viral social media comments, which claimed he encouraged Giudice’s daughters to wear flip-flops and short skirts.
