Five billion dollars: That’s what the Biden-Harris open borders policy cost New York taxpayers.
Yep: In just 25 months through July, Gotham has spent more than 5 billion dollars for migrant-related costs, including $2 billion for housing alone, according to the city’s own figures.
And this superb figurine is budgeted for double by July.
New Yorkers, including Mayor Adams, boast about how they welcome newcomers.
But there is a limit, right?
This staggering sum of $10 billion over three years is almost twice what the NYPD spends each year.
Think of all the extra police officers, firefighters or teachers this could buy.
Oh, and that doesn’t even include the massive losses businesses have suffered from being located near shelters or hangouts for unruly migrants, or the loss of tourism from the conversion of one in five hotels into migrant housing.
Or the cost of migrant-related crime itself: in the past two weeks alone, police have arrested three different illegal migrants for rape in the city.
Yes, New York’s crazy rules (lockdown on demand, for starters) play a role.
But none of that happened until Biden and Harris took office, after sending what migrants call “La Invitacion” to storm the border.
And it’s not just New York: The House Budget Committee estimates the cost to the nation through May could reach 400 billion dollars — with as many as 10 million people breaking into the border under Biden-Harris watch.
The assault will not end when Biden leaves office in January, nor after that if Harris wins in November.
As Biden himself points out, his policies are entirely in line with his own.
(In fact, she’s even more progressive, even though she’s abandoned her “abolishing ICE” rhetoric.)
No, the only hope for New York and America is for Harris to distance herself as much as possible from border politics.
Either she is kept out of the White House, or New Yorkers see even more billions disappear.
