The Scottish Government is testing positive for covid days after the COP26 speech

A Scottish Prime Minister isolates himself after testing positive for Covid-19 two days after speaking at COP26.

Richard Lochhead, the Minister of Fair Transition, Employment and Fair Work, announced that he was warned by the contact tracking app and subsequently registered a positive PCR test.

Lochhead said he has no symptoms and will work from home while in isolation.

The positive result comes a few days after Lochhead visited the Cop26 climate summit in Glasgow, where he spoke with Canadian Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson, and another speech on Monday on Scotland’s transition to net zero.

Lochhead tweeted: “I have received a positive PCR test after being warned as a close contact by the app on my phone.

“I have no symptoms so far and am very relieved that I have been double-vaccinated. I continue to work externally during self-insulation.

“Thanks to Scotland’s NHS.”

He also confirmed that he canceled a visit to Cop26 on Tuesday after being warned by the app.
