Joy Behar, co-host of “The View,” said Hillary Clinton would have won in 2016 if she had been more on the show.

Behar participated in a panel with fellow co-hosts Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro at the 92nd Street Y in Central New York on Tuesday evening. While discussing the show, Behar brought up the former secretary of state’s past appearances.

“Hillary Clinton should have been on ‘The View’ more. She would have won,” Behar argued.

She added: “We all know Hillary Clinton as a really fun grandmother and a person who knows how to joke and people in this country didn’t see that. They would have seen it if she had been on the show more often.”

The hosts joked that Clinton had appeared so many times since that election that she had become like a “guest host” to them. Behar noted that she made a similar comment to Vice President Kamala Harris during her appearance that morning.

“That’s why she came. That’s why she was there. I think she listened,” Behar said.

Most recently, Clinton appeared on the show in September where she discussed Melania Trump’s presence at Rosalynn Carter’s funeral.

“I saw Laura Bush – who is absolutely lovely – speaking with Melania Trump and none of us knew she was going to be there. And Michelle, Jill Biden and I were, like, wow, no one told us that . But immediately, you know, all our training, our good manners, everyone immediately stood up and Michelle gave her one of her hugs and even Jill said how happy she was to see her and I gave her one. said hello, and I wrote down what I thought. It was a very positive thing for her to show up,” Clinton said.

Behar praised Clinton on several occasions and even suggested that she won the election.

“By the way, Mrs. Clinton won the popular vote, I still believe you won, I don’t care what they say,” Behar told Clinton in 2023.

Minutes later, Behar appeared to walk back his comments.

“I don’t want to sound like I didn’t accept the results of the Trump administration’s victory, but I don’t like the Electoral College. And you won the popular vote. He won the College electoral. And that’s all that needs to be addressed,” she said. “Because it’s not about one person, one voice.”
