Three dead in crash involving two motorcycles in Scottish Borders

Three people have died following a crash involving two motorcycles in the Scottish Borders.

Officers were alerted to the crash which happened at around 2.30pm on the A6088 on Sunday.

Police confirmed that a Suzuki GSXR motorcycle and a Kawasaki ZX1400 motorcycle were involved in the collision.

Emergency services attended and three motorcyclists, a 37-year-old man, a 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, died at the scene.

The road was closed and reopened around 9:30 p.m.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding the accident to come forward.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the three people who died.

“Our investigations are ongoing and we are asking anyone who can help us to contact us.

“If you were in the area at the time and have any information, including dashcam footage, that could assist our investigation, please contact us.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101citing incident number 2028 of July 28, 2024. »
