Trump criticized after his most dizzying attack on Kamala Harris

Donald Trump launched a brazen new attack on Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday, claiming she mistreated Mike Pence.

“She’s a nasty person,” the former president said on Fox News. “The way she treated Mike Pence was horrible.”

It’s unclear what exactly he was referring to, but it may have been the 2020 vice presidential debate. It was a relatively quiet debate, best known for a fly landing on Pence’s head, but one line stood out when Pence interrupted Harris and she fired back.

“Mr. Vice President, I am speaking,” she said. “I am speaking.”

The next morning, Trump threw a tantrum, calling Harris a “monster,” “horrible” and “totally unlikeable.”

Trump’s critics were quick to point out that his own treatment of Pence was far worse.

On January 6, 2021, Trump sent his supporters to the Capitol to try to prevent the certification of the election, where they erected a gallows and chanted “Hang Mike Pence” as they broke into the building and lawmakers – including Pence – fled.

Witnesses later told the House committee investigating the riot that Trump had expressed support for people chanting “Hang Mike Pence.”

In the same interview Sunday, Trump attacked Harris for “meanness” and “violence” toward Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh over her tough questioning during his confirmation hearings in 2018.

But it was Trump’s comments about Pence that got his critics on X reacting:
