Two men in hospital after reports of stabbing in south Manchester

Two men are in hospital following reports of a stabbing in south Manchester.

Police closed Wilmslow Road – at the intersection of Walmer Street – in Rusholme around 4.30pm.

Buses were diverted as police and paramedics attended.

Greater Manchester Police said two men were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

An employee at a nearby restaurant said they saw someone being cared for by paramedics.

Another witness said there were ‘about 10 police cars and two ambulances’.



The incident happened at the intersection of Walmer Street

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called shortly before 4.30pm for a report of a stabbing on Wilmslow Road, Manchester.

“Two men have been taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening at present.

“No one has been arrested and an on-site investigation is underway.”
