Wisconsin is hoping to pull off a huge upset against Alabama on Saturday, but its hopes took a big hit after quarterback Tyler Van Dyke was forced to leave the game with an apparent injury.
Van Dyke, a quarterback transfer from Miami who had led the Badgers to two straight victories to start the season, was injured on a run on the opening drive of the game, falling to the ground and grabbing his knee.
The quarterback briefly went to the medical tent before being wheeled to the locker room on a cart. His condition is unknown.
Braedyn Locke, who appeared in five games for the Badgers last season while Tanner Mordecai was injured, came in to replace Van Dyke.
The Badgers were held to a field goal on their opening drive as they took an early lead.
