Unlikely ‘Swifties for Trump’ Movement Takes Social Media by Storm

Taylor Swift fans who apparently support Donald Trump launched an unlikely “Swifties for Trump” campaign on social media platform X on Friday night.

“Kamala’s campaign is starting to panic now that the Swifties for Trump are starting to gain traction,” posted one X user with 294,000 followers as the word combination trended.

“Yes, you can be a Swiftie and a Trump supporter,” wrote one X user who goes by the name @trumpswiftie. “And don’t judge me.”

Swift was busy wrapping up her highest-grossing music tour in history in Europe when the trend began to spread. The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer performed at Wembley Stadium in London on Friday night and will do so again on Saturday. While she hasn’t publicly commented on the November presidential election, Swift endorsed the Democratic ticket of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020.

She criticized Trump’s “ineffective leadership” on social media in the weeks before his defeat in the last presidential election.

“He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as president,” Swift said.

Trump recently admitted that while he finds the 34-year-old pop star “exceptionally beautiful” attractive, the feeling is likely not mutual.

“[Swift] “He probably doesn’t like Trump,” he told “The Apprentice in Wonderland” author Ramin Setoodeh in a recorded interview.

Swift’s supporters, who proudly call themselves “Swifties,” are one of the most engaged fan communities in pop culture. Her support for Harris to become the first female president in U.S. history wouldn’t come as a shock to many.

Representatives for Swift could not be reached for comment Friday evening.
