Virgin Atlantic, IndiGo Reach Codeshare Agreement
Virgin Atlantic and IndiGo have reached a new codeshare agreement for flights between the United Kingdom and India, the companies announced Wednesday.
Initially, customers booking a Virgin Atlantic ticket will be able to connect to and from London-Heathrow and seven cities in India via IndiGo through either Delhi or Mumbai. The agreement later this year is expected to expand to cover 16 destinations in India as well as Virgin Atlantic’s U.S. network operated via London Heathrow, according to the company.
Members of Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club will have opportunities to earn both Virgin Points and Tier Points available on each codeshare with IndiGo. The flights will be made available for booking this week for travel after Sept. 27, subject to government approval, according to the carrier.
