What time is the USA women’s gymnastics team final on Tuesday? Full TV schedule, how to watch – NBC Chicago

After an epic day for Team USA in the men’s artistic gymnastics team final, the USA women’s gymnastics team led by Simone Biles will look to win big in the women’s artistic gymnastics team final on Tuesday.

The team final, scheduled for Tuesday morning, is the same competition that Biles, who injured her calf earlier in the week, skipped in Tokyo, citing safety concerns and sparking an international debate about mental health. The individual all-around is Thursday, where Biles and teammate Sunisa Lee, who won gold in Tokyo while Biles was sidelined, will become the first pair of Olympic all-around champions to face off in an all-around final.

Tuesday’s women’s gymnastics team final will feature competitions on uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and vault. Last week, U.S. officials considered skipping Biles’ uneven bars event in the team finals to give her a break during the Games. Instead, Biles will compete in all events in the finals, where three gymnasts will compete and all three scores will count.

The team of Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera finished first in the Subdivision 2 qualifier on Sunday.

In the first rotation, Biles, Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles will compete on vault. In the second rotation, Chiles, Biles and Sunisa Lee will compete on uneven bars.

The third rotation will see Chiles, Lee and Biles on the beam, and the fourth rotation will see Lee, Chiles and Biles return to the mat for the floor exercise.

Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens, who plays safety for the Chicago Bears, is expected to attend.

The only unexpected change to the lineup is on floor, where 2020 Olympic floor exercise champion Jade Carey will sit. Carey, who will vault, struggled on floor during qualifying and later said she was dealing with an illness.

Hezly Rivera, 16, the youngest member of the five-woman team, is not expected to compete. Rivera was part of the uneven bars and balance beam team in qualifying, but her scores on each event were removed from the team total.

The Americans are heavily favored to win gold after finishing second to Russia in Tokyo three years ago.

The events will air live on NBC 5, and will be replayed in prime time at 7 p.m. The events will also be streamed on Peacock.

Biles ready to perform new skill at 2024 Olympics

Biles, a seven-time Olympic medalist, submitted an original uneven bars skill to the FIG Women’s Technical Committee for evaluation last week, according to NBC Olympics.

This skill is a variation of her Weiler Half Drill that she performs regularly, but includes a clear forward hip circle with 1.5 turns.

If she succeeds, she could leave the Paris 2024 Olympics with a new skill named after her in the Code of Points, a feat that would mean there would be a “Biles” round in every event.

Biles currently has skills named after her on vault, beam and floor. This new skill would be her sixth, but first on uneven bars.
