Whoopi Goldberg and Sonny Hostin fight back after Trump calls them out

Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin, co-hosts of The viewreacted strongly after former President Donald Trump criticized them at two rallies in Pennsylvania.

Trump held a double rally in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, making stops in Scranton and Reading, where he openly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her appearance on The view a day before.

Trump called his opponent “stupid” while suggesting Hostin was even “dumber.” His remarks appeared to reference Hostin’s question to Harris: “If anything, would you have done anything different than President Biden over the past four years?”

“I think the other [Hostin] asking the question is dumber than Kamala, so she’s a dummy. I’ve watched her over the years,” Trump said. “She’s a stupid woman.”

On Thursday’s show, Hostin responded with her trademark “legal note,” which she frequently shares with the public. She highlighted Trump’s criminal record while thanking him for providing the hosts with a wealth of content to discuss.

Hostin, a former prosecutor and legal expert, said she appreciated the opportunity to be a regular at The viewwhile joking that she may not have as much judicial experience as the former president.

“I received a Special Achievement Award from the Department of Justice. You remember the Department of Justice, right? Hostin said on camera, directing his comments at the former president.

“This is the agency that has been pursuing you for decades. Like Vice President Kamala Harris, I also had a history of pursuing sex offenders. Thanks for keeping people like us in business. And as for the questions stupid, you’re always welcome to come here and answer some questions – sitting so close to a prosecutor won’t make you nervous, I’ll even give you a free View mug, not to be confused with the mugshot.

Hostin wasn’t the only co-host on the show that Trump recently taunted. He also called out Goldberg, recalling a time he hired the comedian before his political career took off.

“I hired Whoopi to work for me as a comedian a long time ago, before all this, and I’m not particularly afraid of what I hear. Her mouth was so foul and dirty that half the audience is gone.”

Goldberg didn’t shy away from his past, criticizing the former president for making the foolish choice to hire him.

“At the end of the day, I was dirty. I was dirty, and I stand by it — you knew that when you hired me,” Goldberg responded. “You hired me four times and you didn’t know what you’d get. How stupid are you?”

“A lot of people use the F-bomb. He used the F-bomb. He used all kinds of language. But there’s a difference between people who attack other people and people who say words that you don’t want them to little kids say in the middle of a church conversation.

The other hosts weighed in to discuss his rallies and crowd sizes, noting that the statements he makes at these events are “disturbed” and “incomprehensible.”
