Whoopi Goldberg admits she made a misstep while blasting JD Vance for his recent comments about Taylor Swift.
“The View” co-host immediately corrected herself on Thursday’s episode after criticizing Vance for voicing criticism following the pop star’s support for Kamala Harris.
On Wednesday, the day after Swift announced her official endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Trump’s running mate told Fox News Swift was ‘out of touch’ of most of America.
“We admire Taylor Swift’s music, but I don’t think most Americans, whether they like her music or are fans of her or not, are going to be swayed by a billionaire celebrity who I think is fundamentally out of touch with the interests and issues of most Americans,” Vance told host Laura Ingraham.
“Look, when food prices go up 20 percent, it hurts most Americans. It doesn’t hurt Taylor Swift,” the Ohio senator reiterated. “When housing prices become unaffordable, it doesn’t hurt Taylor Swift or any other billionaire. It hurts middle-class Americans all across the country.”
Goldberg, who is no fan of Trump — himself a “famous billionaire” — was visibly fired up by Vance’s remarks.
“You don’t know what’s affecting him! You don’t know anything about his money! How are you talking about… shut up, JD!” the 68-year-old exclaimed Thursday morning, before quickly saying: “I’m sorry, that was very rude.”
After the commercial break, Goldberg apologized: “The reason I apologized is I hate it when pundits tell me to shut up. It’s not a nice thing to say, so I take it back.”
She did not apologize for the intention behind her statement, however: “The implication is ‘shh.'”

During her final acceptance speech at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday night, Swift took a moment to encourage her fans to vote in the upcoming election.
“The fact that this is a fan-driven award and that you voted for it, I appreciate it so much,” the “Fortnight” singer said. “And if you’re over 18, please register to vote for something else very important coming up: the 2024 presidential election.”
