Develop
A wildfire that started in Highland and spread into the San Bernardino National Forest had charred 172 acres by Thursday night as crews worked to contain the blaze.
Crews responded to the Line Fire around 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. The fire, which started in the Baseline and Alpine area, was out of control by 8 p.m., authorities said.
No evacuations were ordered and no structures were reported as threatened. More than 250 people were mobilized to fight the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
