Woman, 39, suffers ‘horrific’ injuries after being attacked by out-of-control ‘wolf-like sheepdog’ while delivering parcels

A woman suffered “horrific” injuries after being attacked by a dog while delivering parcels.

Sarah Bound, a 39-year-old courier working for Evri, was delivering a parcel to a house in Bridgend when the dog attacked her and bit her several times.

She was then rushed to hospital where she received a tetanus shot and antibiotics.

Ms Bound said: “I really felt like I was in a movie… it was absolutely horrific and the pain was ridiculous.”

The “wolf sheepdog” jumped a fence before trapping Ms Bound in a gate.

The horrific ordeal left Evri’s messenger with three puncture wounds, scars and bruises. “I still have shooting pains in my arms four days later and it’s still bleeding,” she said.

She said: “The owner came around the corner because I guess she heard me screaming.

“When she came to, she said, ‘She’s fine, she won’t bite you.’ The dog bit me several times.

“I was stuck in the doorway as he jumped on me and bit me several times.

“The owner then called him to leave me, but he tried to come back for me when the owner caught him.”

Ms Bound also believes the attack left a lasting impact on her.

She said: “It’s weird, I’m around dogs every day and I’ve never been afraid of them, but now I’m not so sure, it really makes you think.

Ms Bound said: “I didn’t provoke the dog. I didn’t even knock on the door but he was ready to greet me as soon as he saw me. I’ve delivered to the house a few times and he’s usually inside at the window and always startles me when he barks and is quite aggressive through the window.”
The dog’s owner has not heard from Ms Bound since the attack. She said: “I don’t think it’s right. I hope it changes because it can’t happen to anyone else.”

“I asked myself: what if it was a child, what if the owner hadn’t come? It’s a really weird situation and my friends and my partner tell me I don’t feel well.”

She added that she did not blame the dog or the owner, but did not want anyone else to go through this “horrible experience.”
