REDWOOD CITY — A driver struck and injured a woman and a girl Thursday in Redwood City, police said.
The collision happened around 8 a.m. at Duane Street and Harrison Avenue, near McKinley Institute of Technology and North Star Academy, the Redwood City Police Department said in a news release.
The woman and girl were walking in a crosswalk when they were struck by a driver turning from southbound Duane Street onto eastbound Harrison Avenue, police said.
Both pedestrians were taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
“This incident should serve as a reminder to all members of the community that school is back in session and that extra caution should be exercised around schools during drop-off and pick-up times,” police said.
