Police said they attended Ramsay Park, where they found an adult female suffering from multiple stab wounds.
A woman was stabbed to death in Roxbury Saturday afternoon, Boston police said in a news release.
Police received reports of a person stabbed at Ramsay Park around 12:48 p.m., the release said. Officers arrived at 1917 Washington Street, where police said they found an adult female with “multiple stab wounds.”
“Boston EMS rendered aid on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries,” the release states. “She was pronounced dead at 11:40 p.m.”
The victim was 60 years old, The Boston Globe reported.
The BPD Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident, the release states. Police “strongly urge” anyone with information to contact the homicide unit at 617-343-4470 or submit an anonymous tip to 1-800-494-TIPS.
Police also encouraged anyone who needs emotional support or wants to talk to someone about distressing events to contact the Boston Neighborhood Trauma Team at 617-431-0125 for free, private 24-hour support and 7 days a week.
