Wordsley church set to host Christmas tree festival

MORE than 60 decorated trees will be on display at a Wordsley church’s Christmas tree festival.

Holy Trinity Church in Wordsley High Street is staging the event from Friday December 2 to Sunday December 4 after a two-year break due to the Covid pandemic.

Sue Haywood, of the Wordsley Team Parish Parochial Church Council, said: “We have had a tremendous response from the community in respect of the displaying Christmas trees in church for the festival.

“There will be over 60 trees displayed including trees from schools, community groups, local businesses and from our local councillor and MP.”

The church will be open from midday to 4pm on Friday, 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 11am to 2.30pm and 4pm to 6pm on Sunday and there’ll be festive music and refreshments available throughout.

A Christmas fair with plenty of stalls will also be held on Saturday December 3 from 10am until 2pm in the church hall.
