WWE Legends React to Shocking Title Loss Monday Night Raw

WWE Monday Night Raw on September 23 surprised everyone.

Bron Breakker proved to be a dominant WWE Intercontinental Champion, learning from his opponents and decimating them with his power and speed.

However, “Main Event” Jey Uso defeated him to win his first singles title since joining WWE in 2010 alongside his brother, Jimmy Uso.

Jey’s victory ended Breakker’s reign at just 51 days.

Fans and wrestling personalities around the world reacted to Uso’s shocking victory, some for and some against.

One of the most vocal opponents of Uso’s victory was former WWE, WCW and TNA creator Vince Russo, who said the decision made “no sense” on the ” Legion of RAW” from Sportskeeda Wrestling.

“They needed to build Bron Breakker,” Russo said. “They had to give him a title. I don’t even know… I’m not guessing; I know he put some kind of pressure on himself, and they had to take the belt away from him to teach him and make sure he knows who’s boss This booking decision makes no sense.

On the other hand, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and Royal Rumble winner Lex Luger said on his podcast “Lex Expressed” that he didn’t think it would hurt the momentum at all. by Breakker.

“Yeah, that — he won’t miss a beat,” Luger said, according to Robert Defelice of Fightful. “I thought it was great for Jey Uso because, I mean, what he’s doing, the ‘YEET,’ he’s so done. He’s having such a great run, I’m so happy he’s accomplishing that .”

“Plus, even though he’s relatively new to the business, it won’t hurt Bron at all. He’s so talented. He’s going to be a staple in WWE for the next, who knows, 15 to 20 years years, he is going to be a big star, a multiple world champion I only see the sky is the limit for Bron.

“So I think it was one of those situations where it was a win-win. I think Bron is going to go on to bigger and better things, obviously, for a long time, and it was great to see Jey winning the title there. I thought it was a good decision. I don’t think it’s going to hurt Bron.

It’s much easier to side with Luger in this debate. Breakker has gained a lot of momentum since his NXT debut in 2020 and is easily one of the most exciting young wrestlers on the roster. He could easily be a major figure at the event in the near future.

Meanwhile, Jey Uso uses the nickname “Main Event” but has yet to win a title. He needed this to become a threat for world titles in the future.

Breakker and Uso are fine. In fact, it opens up new avenues of storytelling for both of them. It’s exciting to see where they will both go.
