Today is a sporting frenzy for New York fans. The Yankees, Mets and Jets all play Monday.

The Yankees are playing Game 1 of the American League Championship Series. The club will face the Cleveland Guardians in a rematch from two seasons ago.
The last time the two teams met, the Yankees won in five games. New York had its way with the Guardians in October as they also beat the team in 2020 and 2017 in the playoffs.
Nonetheless, Anthony Volpe believes the ALCS will be extremely competitive this season.
“They’re a good team,” Volpe said of the Guardians. “They have their record, and they have played the way they have for a reason all season. They obviously have a very good staff and I think a complete roster. So it’s going to be a tough series.”
The Mets hope to win a game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Monday. The Dodgers won 9-0 on Sunday in the series opener. Mets Japanese right-hander Kodai Senga lasted just 1.1 innings in Game 1 of the NLCS.
“He was out. He didn’t have it,” Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said. “He had no life on his fastball and a lot of wild balls, uncompetitive pitches, especially the split. You could tell from the way they were throwing those pitches, they were balls out of hand . Certainly today.”
The Dodgers got three runs in less than two innings, but it would be a mistake for Los Angeles to underestimate the Mets. Francisco Lindor is still the favorite to win the National League MVP and the team has already come from behind. Just ask the Philadelphia Phillies.
Game 2 of the NLCS begins at 4:08 p.m. The Mets will return to Citi Field for the next three games in the series.
The Jets are in a Monday Night Football showdown against the Buffalo Bills. There has been a lot of buzz around the New York franchise since the team left with head coach Robert Saleh. The Jets fired Saleh after a 2-3 start to the season.
Jets players discovered it like everyone else, thanks to social media. The team hadn’t even officially announced Saleh’s early departure before the news broke. Amid the chaos, the Jets still had to prepare for their upcoming matchup with the Bills.
It’s sure to be an emotional game, but the Jets have a chance to move into a tie for the AFC East lead if they can hold off quarterback Josh Allen and company.
