Four men charged with murder after Stafford man dies

Thapelo Jali, 21, from Stafford, died after being found with serious injuries in the early hours of Monday.

Staffordshire Police launched a murder investigation after being called by West Midlands Ambulance Service who received reports that a man was in cardiac arrest on Buccleuch Road, Normacot.

Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save him.

On Friday night they said Ezaan Hussain, 20, Tuheed Hussain, 23, Tayyab Hussain, 26, and Zubair Hussain, 45, all from Longton, had been charged with murder.

They appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning and were remanded in custody ahead of a crown court appearance to be scheduled on Monday.

He also said specialist officers continue to support Thapelo’s family, who have asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.

The update read: “Four men have been charged with murder after a man died in Normacot.

“We launched our investigation after being called by the ambulance service to reports of a man in cardiac arrest on Buccleuch Road, Normacot, at 00:50 on Monday 22 July.

“Thapelo Jali, aged 21, was found in an alley with serious injuries and unfortunately nothing could be done to save him.

“Ezaan Hussain, 20, Tuheed Hussain, 23, Tayyab Hussain, 26, and Zubair Hussain, 45, all from Longton, have been charged with murder.

“They appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre this morning, Friday 26 July, and have been remanded in custody ahead of a crown court appearance to be scheduled for 29 July.

“Specialist officers continue to support Thapelo’s family, who have asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.”
