When it comes to love scenes, a lot of Hollywood couples have found it’s a real source of jealousy and mistrust! Even when they’re both actors! (And obviously there’s often good reason, as set romances are still a perennial source of hot celeb gossip!)
But Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard may shock you! They aren’t one of those couples who get bent out of shape! No, they are each other’s biggest cheerleaders instead!

During an interview with E! News on Monday, Kristen shared the secret to their marriage being so strong even after 11 years. What is it? “Foundational trust.” The Frozen star knows Dax will always remain faithful to her, no matter who he has to hook up with on camera:
“Even if Dax hooks up with the most beautiful person in the world at work, I know he’s committed to our family. I know he’s coming home. I know he loves our children. I know he strives to be a great husband and father.”
And get this! Kristen even loved Dax’s love scene with one particular former co-star:
“We root for each other. When he got to make out with Minka Kelly on Parenthood, I was like, ‘Yes. Get it.’ We’re married, we’re not dead.”
Ha! No wonder there are all those swinger rumors! LOLz!
As Kristen mention, the support is not just one-sided! Dax also has been a big fan of the on-screen chemistry between Kristen and her co-star, Adam Brody, in Nobody Wants This! And part of the reason he’s OK with it is because he knows it’s only acting! They actually have zero chemistry with each other IRL! Kristen shared:
“Dax knows there’s no real threat there, because Adam and I, if you were to see us in person, there is not chemistry. We bicker all the time. We’re like an old granny and grampy. It’s not hot and heavy on set at all.”
Wow! We love how secure they are in their marriage… most of the time! Obviously, insecurities can sneak in every once in a while! They are only human!
However, if Dax or Kristen start to feel insecure about the onscreen intimacy with a co-star, they feel comfortable enough to say something and have a chat about it with each other. The Veronica Mars alum said:
“We’re just human, right? So maybe there could be a day where I’m like, ‘I’m actually really nervous that you spend time with that person.’ And he could say, ‘Oh, OK, let’s talk about it. What makes you nervous? What are you thinking?’ We have a very open communication.”
Absolutely CRUCIAL to have in a relationship! Good for them!
